HSG-7248F-15E Strike Eagle is a major derivative of the F-15 Eagle, designed as an all-weather ground attack strike fighter. It was designed in the 1980s for long range and high speed interdiction without relying on either escort or electronic warfare aircraft. The F-15E proved itself during Operation Desert Storm and Operation Allied Force, striking against high value targets and combat air patrols and providing close air support for coalition troops.
