The Kamov Ka-27 Helix is a military helicopter developed for the Soviet Navy, and currently in service in various countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Vietnam and the People's Republic of China< Like other Kamov military helicopters it has coaxial rotors, removing the need for a tail rotor. The prototype took the first flight on December 24, 1973. The Ka-27PL Helix-A is the standard anti-submarine warfare variant.
