ITA-1433The twin-engine turbine helicopter SH-3 Sea King, developed and produced by the American company Sikorsky Aircraft, entered service in the 1960s and was widely used for years by the US Navy to perform numerous tasks and operational activities from anti-submarine patrol, to transport, to "Search and Rescue" missions. The sturdy structure, made on a fuselage in the shape of a hull, the tail, and the main folding rotor blades have made it ideal for the role of a helicopter on board capable of being extremely versatile and flexible. It also had the characteristic of having amphibious qualities that made it suitable for ditching.
Among the most interesting versions the Sea King SAR that recovered the crew of the lunar mission "Apollo" in 1969, and that is the machine shown here on the box art and in the decals. Lunar module not included.
