Iskander M is a mobile rocket system carrying short-range ballistic missiles. It was produced and developed in the Russian Federation in the 1980s.
Iskander M wears several warheads, including nuclear. It is aimed at destroying overhead targets, buildings, airports and the PVO system and long-range artillery.
Its purpose is also to destroy missiles and radars in neighboring countries, which borders Russia, and where there is a potential danger to the borders of the Russian Federation. The start of the Iskander project starts in 1988, and it will be operational in 2016.The first fiery baptism of this system was in the Russo-Georgian War of 2008.
